Shavaun's obsession with candles started when her entrepreneurial endeavors ramped up: client demands, deadlines, and self-imposed pressure to outperform the previous year made life chaotic. When life got stressful, Shavaun lit candles. They became a part of her self-care ritual to combat burn out.

At the time, many candles smelled nice, but that was it. A logo or scent name was plastered on the front label. It felt passive and impersonal. Those candles didn’t speak to her.

Shavaun started Spoken Flames to reimagine candles as a more immersive and meaningful experience.

Hand-poured in small batches. High-quality craftsmanship.

Keep the wooden wick trimmed short, preferably to 1/8th of an inch. Make the first burn the best burn: allow for a full melt pool (3-4 hour burn) to prevent tunneling.
